The Mercury Awards recognize excellence in public relations programs and campaigns.

BRANDON ADVERTISING AND PUBLIC RELATIONS ANNOUNCES NEW HIRES

Representatives of Brandon Advertising and Public Relations, one of the leading golf, tourism and real estate agencies in the Southeast, have named Stephanie Griffin as account coordinator and Ryan Ricciardi as technical support associate as a result of the Agency’s growing client roster.
As an account coordinator, Griffin’s responsibilities include attending client meetings, preparing media requests and assisting the account management team with production and creative ads. As technical support associate, Ricciardi is responsible for assisting with the installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of hardware, software, networking, accessory equipment and other peripherals used in the Agency, as well as related telecommunications systems.
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Griffin graduated cum laude from Coastal Carolina University and earned a bachelor of science degree in marketing. Prior to joining the Agency full-time, Griffin interned for the Agency’s public relations department where she was responsible for assisting all public relations associates in the department with writing press releases, organizing clip reports and client research.
Prior to joining Brandon Advertising and Public Relations, Ricciardi served as a computer support technician for Kudzu Technologies, Inc., located in Myrtle Beach. In this role, he was responsible for providing technical support to their existing client base, which included diagnosing and fixing hardware issues for more than 100 clients and several servers; managing network security, antivirus applications and routers; and configuring and supporting network-based applications. A native of Mays Landing, N.J., Ricciardi also served four years as a maintenance administration specialist while in the United States Marine Corps. There, he was responsible for maintaining professional correspondence as well as flight and maintenance documentation for Marine Attack Squadron 231 out of Cherry Point, N.C. Ricciardi received an honorable discharge as a corporal in 2006.

In her role as interactive media planner and buyer, Bale is responsible for the buying and planning of emerging new media trends such as social media; familiarity with important media vendors; analysis of interactive media campaigns; optimization of media placements; negotiation with media vendors for best placement and added value; and maintaining relationships with interactive media representatives. A native of Stratford, N.J., Bale joins Brandon Advertising and Public Relations after working as the marketing manager at PARTNERS Economic Development Corporation in Conway, S.C., where she was responsible for media planning and buying, developing strategic marketing plans, generating leads, as well as membership recruitment and retention. She attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J., and earned a bachelor of arts degree in marketing and communication, along with a minor in women’s studies.
Garner comes to Brandon Advertising and Public Relations after serving as the director of marketing for Prudential Source One Properties and Source One Signature Communities of Pawleys Island, S.C. In this role, Garner was responsible for the strategic planning of marketing and advertising initiatives for the land sales division of Source One Signature Communities, and the general brokerage division of Prudential Source One Properties. MYRTLE BEACH CHAMBER NAMES YPARTNERSHIP, BRANDON FOR ADVERTISING

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC) has announced that Ypartnership, Orlando, Fla. and Brandon Advertising and Public Relations, Myrtle Beach, S.C., have been chosen as the chamber's new marketing and advertising agency of record.
The decision comes after a lengthy search process where agencies replied to a request for proposal from the chamber. Four agencies were then invited to present their proposals to chamber representatives.
"The firms that presented proposals were notable and the competition was stiff," said Brant Branham, chamber publicity committee chairman. "Ypartnership and Brandon Advertising impressed us with their knowledge and skill. We look forward to working with them in order to gain more exposure for the Grand Strand."

HATTON GRAVELY APPOINTED TO FRANKLIN G. BURROUGHS-SIMEON B. CHAPIN ART MUSEUM BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Hatton Gravely, an account coordinator at Brandon Advertising and Public Relations, has recently been appointed to the board of trustees of the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum.
Gravely, an art enthusiast, has been involved with the Museum since the spring and as a member of the board of trustees will be responsible for coordinating special events, attending monthly board meetings and making decisions to help shape the future of the art museum. She has served on the 10th Anniversary Gala Planning Committee and is currently serving as co-chair for the Museum’s Bag Ladies Luncheon, which will be held on November 13. Representatives from Brandon Advertising and Public Relations, one of the leading golf, tourism and real estate agencies in the Southeast, today announced that the Agency is the first in the 25-year history of the Coastal Advertising and Marketing Professionals (CAMP) organization to win a National ADDY Award. After competing against 27 agencies from across the country in the category of single medium public service campaign, Brandon Advertising and Public Relations was one of only two Silver ADDY winners. The Agency won the Silver ADDY for a poster campaign designed for Citizens Against Spouse Abuse (CASA), a non-profit organization that offers aid to families in crisis in Horry and Georgetown Counties in South Carolina.
The CASA “It’s No Longer Your Life” poster campaign was launched in October 2006, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, encouraging women in an abusive or controlling relationship to seek help. Since 2006, Brandon Advertising and Public Relations has worked with CASA to promote the organization’s mission to educate the community about the serious and costly nature of domestic violence, and to provide emergency safe shelter, counseling and support for abused women and children.

Brandon Advertising and Public Relations’ photography director Michael Slear recently received the Outstanding Achievement in Photography award presented by the International Society of Photographers at the official ceremony, held in late March in Las Vegas, Nev., in conjunction with the International Society of Photographers Annual Convention and Symposium. Slear was also nominated for the 2007 Photographer of the Year award.
“I am truly honored to receive this most prestigious award,” said Slear. “To receive the Outstanding Achievement in Photography award from my peers was a great accomplishment for me and an inspiration to continually push myself to find fresh and imaginative ways to photograph all of my subjects.”

Representatives from Brandon Advertising and Public Relations, one of the leading golf, tourism and real estate agencies in the Southeast, today announced they have won a National Silver ADDY Award for a poster campaign designed for Citizens Against Spouse Abuse (CASA), a non-profit organization that offers aid to families in crisis in Horry and Georgetown Counties in South Carolina. Representatives from the Agency will receive the Silver ADDY Award at the national awards ceremony, Saturday, June 9 in Louisville, Ky.
The CASA “It’s No Longer Your life” poster campaign began in October 2006, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and encourages women in an abusive or controlling relationship to seek help. Since 2006, Brandon Advertising and Public Relations has worked with CASA to promote their mission to educate the community about the serious and costly nature of domestic violence, and to provide emergency safe shelter, counseling and support for abused women and children.

Representatives from Brandon Advertising and Public Relations have named Dan Benner as art director and Glenn Garfold as assistant art director. Both Benner and Garfold join the Agency’s creative department to better service the Agency’s growing client roster.
Benner’s responsibilities include overseeing the creation, development and production of advertising materials for the Agency’s clients. Garfold is responsible for production work for print ads, making changes and corrections to creative jobs that have been through the conception process, and creating original designs.
Benner joins Brandon Advertising and Public Relations after working for Matlock Advertising and Public Relations in Atlanta, Ga. where he served as art director and worked with such clients as Publix Supermarkets, Nationwide Insurance, Bellsouth Telecommunications, Lustre’s/Renutrients Hair Products and Dell Computers. Benner attended Georgia State University where he studied English literature and later attended the Creative Circus to study advertising art direction.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Garfold worked as a print production artist for MARC USA, a full-service advertising, marketing and communications agency, prior to joining Brandon Advertising and Public Relations. While there, Garfold was in charge of the development of client layouts, the creation of mock-ups, digital image manipulation, pre-flighting production art files and overall project quality control. He graduated cum laude from La Roche College in Pittsburgh, Pa. with a bachelor of science degree in graphic design and communications.
